ACE Mission Statement

ACE is the voice of ergonomics in Canada. It fosters member’s professional growth and promotes human-centred design to optimize performance. ACE believes that high quality ergonomics is good for business and good for people.

In order to implement this vision, we recognize the need for ACE to be:

The voice for ergonomics in Canada. ACE must succeed in influencing trends, public policy, legislation, education etc. We provide interdisciplinary synergy by structuring ourselves as a “hub” for ergonomics expertise and activity that invites collaboration with allied professions.

Proud of our membership diversity. ACE is strong because of our members. It is their diversity that provides us a strategic advantage over other organizations. All our members are involved and engaged and interact with one another across professional, geographical and linguistic lines.

Instrumental in enhancing the quality of ergonomics in Canada. ACE provides effective and varied programs that provide opportunities to increase and enhance the quality of ergonomics in Canada and the competency of our practitioners.

Moving Towards Our Vision

ACE must act with confidence and “stand strong!”

  1. We need to clarify and communicate what “ergonomics” is.
  2. We need to better understand the demographics of our membership base. This will help us meet members’ needs, attract new members, and recognize opportunities for partnership.
  3. We need to maximize the value of limited ACE resources. This includes financial, volunteer, staff, and technical resources, supported by ongoing revenue-generating programs.
  4. ACE must celebrate and embrace certification to promote our profession and our members while elevating the quality of practice.
